Days of Employment: 216 days 


Required: KY Teaching certification for Elementary, Middle School or Secondary, Program Consultant certification preferred, and minimum of 5 years experience. 

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  1. Observes classroom instruction and provides feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  2. Supports stakeholders involved in instruction, including teachers and administrators.
  3. Assists teachers with lesson planning and provides resources and materials to support staff in effectively implementing the curriculum. Models effective teaching strategies with classrooms of students for teachers.
  4. Assists with maintaining records and works with the Director of Instructional Programs and school staff in evaluating and improving services to students.
  5. Supports the district’s RTI System and provides guidance for RTI instruction.
  6. Coordinates the efforts of the school staff in the horizontal and vertical articulation of the curriculum among and between grade levels.
  7. Support the school leadership team by assisting in the management and the collection of ongoing assessment data.  
  8. Collaborates with other instructional coaches and district administrators to examine curriculum and analyze assessment data.  
  9. Provides and attends professional development upon request by school and district administrators.
  10. Serves as a liaison between the school and the district by communicating to certified staff at the school about professional development opportunities in and outside of the school district, and maintains professional development records for certified staff assigned to the school. 
  11. Contributes regularly to the district’s and school’s curriculum web pages.  
  12. Keeps abreast of current research, trends, innovations, and best practice methodology as it pertains to curriculum and pedagogy.
  13. Keeps appropriate records and prepares reports in a timely manner.
  14. Communicates effectively with students, parents, classroom teachers, and administrators to discuss progress of students and aspects of the gifted program.
  15. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, strategies and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  16. Implements and adheres to all rules and regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines as adopted by the School Board for the district.
  17. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
  18. Maintains appropriate professional appearance.
  19. Adheres to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
  20. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations and acts as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
  21. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
  22. Implements and adheres to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Director of Instructional Programs, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
  23. Maintains acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardies, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
  24. Performs any other duties assigned by the Director of Instructional Programs or other Administrative Staff.
