This is a District Wide position serving students at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate a current and sufficient academic knowledge of certified content areas to develop student knowledge and performance in those areas.
2. Design and plan instruction that develops student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
3. Create a learning climate that supports the development of student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
4. Introduce, implement, and manage instruction that develops student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
5. Assess learning and communicate results to students and others with respect to student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
6. Use technology to support instruction; assess and manipulate data; enhance professional growth and productivity; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community; and conduct research.
7. Reflect on and evaluate specific teaching and learning situations and/or programs.
8. Assist with personal hygiene needs of physically disabled students which may require lifting of students.
9. Frequently lift 30-50 pounds.
10. Frequently walk, stand, reach, bend, stoop, and crawl.
11. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other agencies to design, implement, and support learning programs that develop student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
12. Evaluate her/her overall performance with respect to modeling and teaching Kentucky’s learning goals, refine the skills and processes necessary, and implement a professional development plan.
13. Perform professional duties and provide professional leadership with the school, community, and education professional to improve student learning and well-being.
14. Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and well-being.
15. Participate in faculty meetings, team meetings, departmental meetings, committees, and the sponsorship of student co-curricular activities as assigned.
16. Participate in annual training regarding positive behavior interventions and supports.
17. Remain at school during the entire school day unless excused by the Principal for emergency reasons.
18. Report any unusual occurrence or event to the Principal immediately (bomb threat, thefts, child abuse, harassment, etc.)
19. Supervise students during in-class and out-of classroom activities during the assigned working day.
20. Administer individual and group assessments in accordance with the district and school assessment program.
21. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
22. Adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
23. Administer health services to students as necessary including, but not limited to, the administration of medication; the operation, maintenance, or health care through the use of medical equipment; or the administration of clinical procedures.
24. Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
25. Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
26. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
27. Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
28. Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
29. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal, Administrative Staff, or Superintendent.
